Sunday my MIL took us (her grandkids and I) on an adventure to Newport RI. We had a fun time. On the way down we stopped at the Newport Creamery and got a nice inexpensive meal. The kids got Awful Awfuls, which are basically Frapes. Then we got to down town Newport, a tourist trap of grand proportions. Reminded me of Rockport. As their birthday ( Read more... )

Hull got it's first state approval on the road to putting 4 wind turbines 1.5 miles off the coast. If they get these in place, in addition to the two already in use, they figure they can power the entire town. I don't know what the top temps were here on the coast, but I think it was about 71, maybe a bit more. A slight breeze. In the time it took me to do a second load of laundry and take a shower, the first load was almost dry on the line.

I was stunned to read that Luke and Laura of General Hospital fame had again tied the knot. I used to watch GH back when I was in Jr. High. There are plenty of leaves falling in my yard, but they are not pretty colored ones, they are dry crusty hulks of their former selves, prematurely ejected from the branches after being besieged by inch worms and then rusts and mold spores.  My choke cherry tree is nearly barren, and some of the maples are almost as bad.
